Fahion and fashion disasters

Fashion can be good fashion can be bad. Some people wear stuff just for the sake of wearing it, they don't think before they wear. They notice other's clothes and copy, but don't think whether it would look good on them or not, but at times its not their fault. Some people can not make out what looks good on them. How can one make out what suits the best?

  2. Agree with you Piyush. But at times when people ask us whether they are looking good or not, we probably say that they are...for the sake of keeping their heart. DOn't you think we should tell them the truth?

  4. Well... I think one must always choose one's wardrobe according to ones height, skin color, hair type, face structure, bulit, etc... And Fashion according to me is something which is trendy and which you're comfortable wearing... Could be a well stitched, embroidered Salwaar kameez for a girl or a simple kurta-pyjaama for a boy. Sometimes tight fitting clothes can get suffocating...
And then never go for shopping clothes alone. take a bunch of friends, those who you think have a good fashion sense or stuff. Coz they can judge it better as to which attire suits you best. And then the golden rule: The expensive stuffs aren't always better than their cheaper counterparts...
    :)

  7. Plus... fashion blunders/wardrobe malfunctions are very common. We've all experienced it at some point or the other in our lives... Could be as simple as a broken heel (of, say, a stiletto) or a snapped button of a t-shirt... So what one must learn is that, the simpler the clothing, the lesser the chances of such a happening. And then most importantly, one must learn to carry oneself gracefully in whatever one's wearing- Could be a Beautiful Saari, or a pair of Hot Pants... :)
And then its so shocking to see some people wearing sleeveless or backless clothes (common at marriage ceremonies), even in the midst of chilly winters! And it would look similarly odd to see someone wearing a muffler in summers! So one must wear according to the season aswell...

  8. A lot of good points have already been mentioned, and I would like to add another one which I think works well in a case of selecting what to wear. I have limited knowledge about fashion and I'm not too inclined towards it but I have noticed that a good "reason" makes me dress well. If I go to a mall or some other public place, I try to dress decent 'cuz you have to look presentable. On the other hand, going to a lab/library to study, I wouldn't care about what I wear. Parties require a little more "fashion"!

A great way (in my opinion) which shows whether what you wear is correct or not, is to "feel" that you belong where you are! Also, feedback from "close" friends is important.

  9. I think d media and bollywood is to be blamed over here. They jst show those people making a style statement who have a perfect physique and features so that anything they wear would suit them, but, u would nevr come across a eat person or a short guy making a style statement. So where do such people get ideas from?

  10. yes, i agree, bollywood does participates here. but blamed are to be those people who imitate them, unknowingly what they are really.

i guess it's well declared here that celebs are glamourous, dressed and styled by professionals. and that we are not them.

i believe one should wear according to what one is from inside. whatever is person's character is revealed through his/her clothes. thus, before choosing from your wardrobe, ask yourself- is this really you?

at last guys, just love yourself. your clothes won't restrict the kind of person you are.

  11. there's no arguing this topic.. u lyk smthing, u wear it.. its not necessary that the othr person must lyk it too.. u think it looks good, she thinks it doesn't.. difference of opinion, nothing else.. u can nvr convince anyone what they're wearing is bad..

  12. very true, even i feel that what other person wears its his decision. who am i to question or suggest that person a style statement. but yes, its true too, that "some" people really become centre of attention sometimes and this becomes the talk of the day, especially people like me, who love to gossip.

anyhow, i feel all people should choose simple look. suggestions from 'close' friends. and, must choose according to their skin, colour, height, ....so on.

  13. i think fashion shud not whts latest or anythin.. it shud be type of clothes in wich u r comfortable.. cuz what matters is how you "carry it.."
and if u r wearing a tight top..nd u r so uncomfortable dt u cnt carry it off..
